Call Me Death
I curl up next to Man. His faded denim jacket provides little warmth in comparison to the fire he has conjured in the trash can. I watch as the flames swoop up into the night sky, their long fingers grabbing the air. The smell of burning human food and smoke fill my nose, making me sneeze in irritation. Warmth is spread across my wet fur, the red glow illuminates Man’s rugged features. His blue ghostly eyes watch over the street, glaring at the passersby. I feel his large hand spread across my head, his giant thumb strokes behind my ears.

The rain falls from the sky like a light grey curtain being dropped again and again. People dart around with umbrellas and raincoats, resembling how ants scurry around pointlessly from place to place.
